Ella 'Mary' Harriel

Mary Harriel was born in Columbus, Mississippi to Pearl O'Neal and William Mitchell. Shortie worked at the early age of eight picking cotton along with her dear brother Ellis Mitchell. The two of them worked very hard and industrious to help pull the load, with their mom, after losing their dad at that age. She relocated to Illinois at the age of 16 after marrying Murry Colemam, a soldier in the U.S Army. Mary gave birth to two children during this marriage. In her early adult years she took on the employment of a Home Health Care giver in the area of E. St. Louis, Il. She was known for the loving care she had for her children which also extended to many others in the neighborhood. Others appreciated shortie for her meals as well as room and board. Shortie worked and cared for others until her health no longer allowed her to. Shortie relocated once again to California where she resided with her son and daughter-in-law Leroy and Twanda Harriel in La Habra, Ca. She was 81 years young. Ella "Mary" Harriel from La Habra, California passed away on February 5, 2016. She is survived by her children Amosa Wayne Coleman from California, Milton Harriel from Illinois, Leroy and Twana Harriel from California, Mashelle and Girard Morgan from Illinois, Lee-Thelbert Harriel from St. Louis, Mo, William and Theresa Harriel from Illinois, and Marlon and Sarah Harriel from Illinois. Two children, her husband and one brother pre-deceased her: Clearance Coleman from Illinois and Alfreda Coleman from Illinois. Her husband Edward Harriel from Illinois and her brother Ellis Mitchell from Mississippi. She is also survived by many grandchildren.
