    Sylvia Emch Cavallo

    November 6, 1931 - May 13, 2016

Fullerton – Sylvia passed away peacefully, at age 84, with her daughters by her side. She was born in North Dakota, on a farm, to Keith Emch and Clara Broton in 1931. After her High School Graduation she left for college for a year attended Concordia College in Morehead, Minnesota. She was given an opportunity to take a teaching preparation course; she passed the test, and taught at an elementary rural school for a year. She also worked as a waitress at the Old Faithful Inn during the summer with two of her sisters. She met her future husband while working at Yellowstone and they married a year later at Council Bluffs, Iowa. Her husband John J. Cavallo was posted at the air force Base, in Omaha, Nebraska, so they moved there and had their first daughter in 1953.  They moved to Illinois to be near John’s family and they also moved to North Dakota for a brief time. They ultimately ended up moving to California and the rest of Sylvia’s family relocated to California as well. Sylvia and John had their second daughter in 1962 in Whittier, California. In 1965 the family moved to Fullerton, California where Sylvia remained until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. She is survived by her two daughters and their families. Two sisters and one brother and their families. Also by her four grandchildren. Sylvia loved her Family and Friends and she enjoyed playing bridge and working on her ancestry. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
