I cannot express in words how much affection my mom had for her family. She lived a life full of joy and from the day she was born in India she seemed to be a good luck charm. Her life in Mumbai as a child was spent with her grand-parents who raised her till 16 years of age. She then met her brothers and sister for the first time at 16, when she moved to Manchester, UK. She then enjoyed time with her mom (Bhagwati Parikh) and dad (Kantilal Parikh) while being the eldest of four siblings who were intrigued by her presence. She brought her entire family together by instilling Indian family values in a modern English enviroment. She later, at the age of 22, met my father (Naresh B. Patel), who she was instantly attracted to. That instant attraction transcended into marriage which lasted for 41 years. My mother married in India, left England and moved back to India for a short time living with my father in Ahmedabad. Then months later moved to the United States for a bright future ahead. They say my father's success is primarily due to my mother's lucky charm. She loved vacations, working out, and fine cuisine. She had a meticulous nature that enabled her to have amazing organizational abilities that reflected in her home and personal positions. Even in her last days, her IPHONE was filled with scheduling plans with both her kids, grandkids, husband, her brothers, and sister along with her long list of water aerobics friends. She went shopping only for her kids and grandkids. She unselfishly gave her prized possessions to her family without any hesititation. My mom made a point not to ever leave anybody out. We miss and love her a whole lot. We all feel her life was cut short. However, our family has come together in crisis knowing we have to be strong and united in order to get through this difficult time. She passed away peacefully on May 23rd, 2014 in Anaheim, CA. She fought for 25 days in the intensive care ward at Kaiser Permanente Anaheim, CA, where she passed away from a global anoxic brain injury related to a sudden cardiac arrest. We Love you mom! You will always live in our hearts and soul Forever!!!
