    Georgina Longmuir

    April 1, 1967 - July 23, 2013

Rita Georgina Longmuir was born in Cenotillo, Yucatan, Mexico on April 1, 1967 and passed away in her home in Brea on July 23, 2013 after a very devastating battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of John Longmuir for 15 years and the devoted mother to William (age 13) and David (age 8). She was a dear daughter to Aurelio Matos Polanco (who predeceased her) and Olimpia Tun Polanco and a dear sister to Jose Polanco (who predeceased her), Wilbert Polanco and Clara Castro. She graduated from Cal State Los Angeles with a B.A. degree in Art History. She had a distinguished career in the financial industry as a trading assistant at the Capital Group in downtown Los Angeles before becoming a homemaker. She loved to train at Brea Shaolin Kung Fu School and she didn’t let cancer keep her from going to classes there. The greatest thing about Georgina (besides being a wonderful wife and mother) was her Love for our Lord and Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ) and His Word. Her Love for the Lord and His Word gave her a Love for people and she especially delighted in children and wanted them to know about Yeshua! She said she learned so much from the children and they encouraged her faith. She taught the Word to children at Shabbat School at Shuvah Yisrael in Irvine and the Good News Club at Arovista Elementary School in Brea. Even when she was very ill, she shared her faith with dozens of doctors, nurses, staff and patients at City of Hope Cancer Hospital in Duarte. She knew that you can’t earn your way to heaven, it is a free gift from God – Yeshua did it all by dying for us on the cross. We can’t do anything to make Him love us more, or make Him love us less, we have been given His Righteousness for our Sin! Hallelujah! What a great Savior and Amazing Love! Now she is in heaven, pain free and in the Lord’s presence forever! Fear not, for I am with you: Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donation be made to City of Hope. The link has been provided below.
