    Daniel C. Guerrero

    December 8, 1932 - December 31, 2020

Daniel “Rocky” Chico Guerrero was born on December 8, 1932. He passed away at the age of 88, on December 31, 2020 due to advanced dementia. He was born in East L.A., and 48 years ago moved his family to West Covina. He was a graphic designer, layout/production artist, and Print Production Supervisor. He worked at McMahan’s Furniture, White Front Stores Incorporated, Sunset House, Builder's Emporium, Harlyn Products in the Jewelry District in Downtown Los Angeles, and Frederick's of Hollywood. He retired from creating Los Angeles Times ads for Robinsons-May. Dan designed logos for: “Thru The Bible Radio Network”, "Monkeys To Go" store, Lord’s Disciples Christian Motorcycle Club, and “Christian Faith Jewish Roots”. He made special occasion cards and banners for his family and friends. He encouraged education, music, art, and laughter. He cherished his family. Spent time to teach his children about the Bible, he was active in church, Bible studies, a prayer warrior, and he studied Hebrew. Education meant a lot to him, and he passed those values to his family. Dan attended Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, Mount San Antonio College, Pasadena City College, and Cal State L.A. Studying art was fun, he had a lot of books, and high fashion European magazines. He had a wonderful style, he was a sharp dresser, and taught us how to look our best. He would let his kids use his art supplies and taught us how to use each media. He was friendly to everybody. Walks in the neighborhood, shopping at local stores, everywhere he went he made sure to ask their name. If he knew you well, then most likely you had a nickname. Dan “Rocky” was street smart, he taught his kids to be prepared and be safe. He shared with his children how to stay healthy, and exercise. Dan loved good food. Sharing a good meal with family meant a lot to him. Dan liked all genres of music: jazz, rock, classical, opera, and new wave. He was an avid fan of World War II airplanes. He loved our family pets: our dog Bullet, Blade, Thor and Natashia’s dog Annie, and Deanna’s kitty cats Baybee, Syd, and especially Masque. He was a believer and true example of second chances and knowing God’s love and forgiveness. Daniel is a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin. He is survived by his wife Dolores, sons Luke, and Matthew, daughter Deanna, daughter-in-law Jaime, grand-daughter Natashia and Addy, great-grandchildren Harmony and Lyric, and his sister Eva.
