Consuelo Munoz was a special woman you all may have known as Mom, Nana, Consuelo, Chelo or Connie ...and lastly but not least Grandma was known to the boys as the Warden! The reason because she put order! To me...she was Grandma and I am honored and privileged to share a little bit about the leader of our family with all of you. Although I'm overwhelmed with sadness, I want to celebrate the life of a strong and influential woman that we were blessed to have had for 90 years. Grandma was the rock that held our family together. Everyone, expressed so much love and respect for this little petite woman. Although we all are busy with daily life, I saw many of us come together to support one another, I realized at that time, Grandma has taught us well and she many times verbalized "stay together as a family. Take care of each other--like family! We are a small family, we need to stay united. I am confident that she would be so proud of us all. Grandma impacted our lives in one way or another, establishing many different relationships whether you were a family member, a friend or a business acquaintance, Grandma was sensitive to each individual and was never surprised at what, why or who nor was grandma intimidated to approach us with a lecture, advise or simply her opinion, she counseled us all and she displayed herself appropriately to meet each individual's personality. I'm confident that she at one time in our lives influenced us in a positive manner, we have all learned from her wealth of knowledge and her words of wisdom. My grandma adored and admired her children, first three boys, Salvador , Jorge and Armando, thereafter blessed with three daughters Raquel, Consuelo and Elizabeth. She was a proud grandma to 15 grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren and 7 great -great- grandchildren. One day while at the hospital with one of her boys, I saw the soft maternal side of an unconditional love of a Mother, she expressed with tears in her eyes, "God forbid I lose one of my children before my time, that would be the end of the world for me." I knew at that time, that all six of you , individually, held a very special place in her heart that could never be replaced. My Grandma was a successful business woman, disciplined, strong and independent, making decisions without hesitation. Grandma had a love for music, especially for the sound of mariachi, she also had a beautiful sense for Fashion, always making a grand entrance and frequently complimented and admired for dressing appropriately for the occasion. Grandma carried herself in such a unique manner and assuring on leaving an everlasting impression. Let's be thankful and appreciate all the memories that Grandma left us with, the special moments shared will carry us through until we meet again. Our loss is Heaven's gain, may You be rejoicing in god's loving arms! This is not good bye Grandma, let's just say, until we meet again!
