Wiliam N. Selvig

William N. Selvig of Anaheim, CA., passed away peacefully on April 21, 2023 at the age of 90. William was born in Pittsburgh, PA. on November 11, 1932, to parents Walter A. and Mary Kean Selvig. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, two brothers and two sisters Walter K., Edwin R., Ruth & Dorothy Selvig. William was a faithful servant of God and raised his family to love Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. He was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering in 1954. William met his sweetheart Barbara “Bobbie” Kilmer at Penn State University and they married shortly after graduation. William served as an officer in the United States Army Corp of Engineers Combat Engineering Battalion and was honorably discharged as a Second Lieutenant. William worked his entire career in the Oil & Gas Industry rising to the title President of several large oil field services companies. Bill was an avid outdoors enthusiast and had a great love for back country hiking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains with family and enjoyed the challenge of winter mountaineering excursions with the Sierra Club. His passion for God’s majesty in the Sierra Nevada Mountains was a perfect fit for his volunteer service in the R.M. “Bob” Pyles Boys Camp. Pyles Boys Camp offers underprivileged youth an opportunity to grow and learn self-sufficiency in the Sierra Nevada Mountains back country. William served on the Bob Pyles Boys Camp board of directors for many years. William is survived by his wife Barbara Kilmer, sons William E., Steven S. and Scott W. Selvig, & their wives Valerie, Lisa & Karen Key Selvig. Five grandchildren Kelley Marie (Crummitt), Kolbey Leigh (Noteboom), Kyle, Sean and Leah (Robinson) Selvig, and six great grandchildren Kate, Sara and Kenzie Crummitt, and Delanie, Karly and William Noteboom. Service will be held at Walnut Village Anaheim at 891 S. Walnut Street Anaheim, CA 92802 on Friday July 14, 2023 at 10:30 AM PST. William will be interned at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Brea, CA.
